OUR IMPORTANT MISSION
The Orange County Mormon Choral Organization is an independent nonprofit organization founded in order to teach and encourage excellence in quality and sacred music. Its primary purpose is to provide a unique and unsurpassed level of music education to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in OrangeCounty. We also seek to offer this tremendous opportunity to members of all faiths throughout the community. In doing so, we provide an invaluable learning environment whereby children, youth, and adults can associate with and share talents with those who maintain upstanding values.
Members of OCMCO will acquire an unsurpassed music education through weekly rehearsals. We use rehearsal sessions not only to teach and expose the singers to various sacred works and hymn arrangements, but also to teach the fundamentals of singing technique, conducting, and an appreciation of quality music. All choirs perform in state-of-the-art concert halls accompanied by an orchestra. We believe that the opportunity to perform in such professional and remarkable venues and circumstances will give incomparable experience for all members of the organization, even children as young as four years old. This will result in a more cultured, musically sensitive generation of members of the Church and the community – one that will build music to a level of artistry that many of our latter-day prophets have foretold.
We seek to inspire, teach, and uplift members of the organization and the community. Our quarterly concerts will offer the recurring opportunity to be edified and inspired by fine choral and orchestral music, including stirring, inspirational hymn arrangements. We encourage members of all faiths to attend our concerts.
Our long term vision is to reach literally thousands of lives in Orange County, and to extend our efforts beyond its borders. We believe there are no limits to the number of lives we can inspire through this ever-expanding organization.
