Ensembles and Rehearsals
OCMCO is pleased to accommodate six performing ensembles: five choirs and a symphony orchestra. Participants in the choirs and orchestra are volunteers committed to the organization and its purpose. All ensembles perform in concert at the end of each semester in the Segerstrom Center for the Arts Renée & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. For ensemble names and age/grade levels of each ensemble, see the table below.
REHEARSALS
Choral ensembles rehearse on Thursday of each week during the semester. The orchestra rehearses on select weeks from mid-semester until the concert. See the table below for each ensemble's rehearsal time.
Rehearsals for the children's/youth ensembles are held at the Newport Beach Stake Center, located next door to the Newport Beach Temple, at 2150 Bonita Canyon Dr., Newport Beach. Rehearsals for the adult choir and orchestra are held at various stake centers along the 405 Fwy. The exact location for each adult choir and orchestra rehearsal can be found on the detailed calendar.
TUITION/FEES
The children's and youth ensembles pay tuition for their weekly music education. The Orange County Mormon Choir (adults) pay a nominal participation fee for their weekly rehearsals. For specific information about all of the costs involved for each ensemble, see Tuition/Fees and Attire. Tuition rates and participation fees for each ensemble are also listed in the table below.
